One of Noel Coward’s finest.Noel Coward’s "Blithe Spirit" to Open Season GARLAND, TEXAS – Garland Civic Theatre will kick off its 37th season with Noel Coward’s improbable farce, Blithe Spirit, which previews on September 9, 2004. The show opens on Friday, September 10 and continues Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 PM through September 25. Matinee performances are scheduled at 2:00 PM September 18, 19, 25 and 26. All performances are in the small theatre of the Granville Arts Center, Fifth and Austin Streets in downtown Garland. A medium, ghosts, seances and dueling wives combine to create the magic of this hilariously witty play which takes place in England during a summer about 1940. The cast includes Cyndi Saye as Edith, Kristen Blevins James as Ruth, John Venable as Charles, Steven-Shayle Rhodes as Dr. Bradman, Karyn Lush Wright as Mrs. Bradman, Jody Rudman as Madame Arcati, and Cheryl Sartain Lowber as Elvira. The production staff is Neale Whitmore as director, Jim McCoy as stage manager, Dan Burkarth as properties designer, Clare Devries as set designer, and Celeste Rogers as costume designer. Tickets are $19.00 to $22.00 and are available at the Granville Arts Center Box Office or by calling 972-205-2790. Please note that a service charge of $1.00 is added for each ticket. Garland Civic Theatre, a member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Theatre League, and Texas Non-profit Theatres, is enjoying its 37th season of theatre in Garland.
