This little known mystery will certainly surprise and delight, especially "Christie" fans.Garland Civic Theatre has scheduled auditions for "Black Coffee" by Agatha Christie on June 24, 2012. Auditions will be held at 108 North Sixth Street in downtown Garland. The cast includes a total of 13 roles (3 females and 10 males) ages 18 to 65. All roles are available and the casting will be ethnically diverse. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 972-485-8884. Appointments are available from 1 PM to 4:30 PM. Auditioners should bring a headshot and resume to their appointment. No experience is required. The auditions will consist of a "cold reading" from the script. Callbacks will be at 6:30 PM on June 24, 2012. Rehearsals begin on July 12 and performances will be August 23 – September 15, 2012. The story concerns a physicist named Sir Charles Amory who has come up with a formula for an atomic bomb (written in 1934). Sir Claude is poisoned and Hercule Poirot is called in to solve the case. He does so after many wonderful twists and turns in the true "Christie" tradition. All the shows are at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland.
